I haven't done one of these posts in a while! I still love my succulent babies, even though I haven't posted about them lately. I went thrifting today and found the cutest vintage planter for one of my Haworthia succulents. I added some little babes that I propagated, too!
I'm working on a piece for my brother whose beloved pup passed away over the summer. He doesn't know I'm working on it for him, so I think it will be a nice surprise. I hope he doesn't check my blog! Haha! This is only the second time I've ever painted an animal. I broke out my pastels for this special piece. I LOVE pastels! So far, so good. :)
I had fun with this watercolor and pen illustration. I snapped a photo of a woman on a smoke break in Paris last month. Everyone smokes there. It made for some cool photos that I’m turning into paintings. 🚬 😁 (SOLD)

This will be the first time I'll have my succulent art in a show and the first time I'll be showing at a gallery in Seattle! I'm looking forward to being a part of the 11th Annual Holiday Mini Art Exhibit at Ghost Gallery opening on November 9th! I visited Seattle once a few years ago for a weekend and loved it. I hope to go back again soon!
It was a bit warm in San Diego today, but I was determined to get my traditional fall pumpkin from up in Julian, CA. Julian is the most "fall" town in San Diego County, so I took the nice drive up and spent the day walking around and checking out antique shops. I even had a piece of a-maz-ing apple rhubarb pie at a local bakery! So good!
I don't do too many landscapes, but I had this old frame with a cool mat and I wanted to create something for it. I love ethereal, haunted looking charcoal drawings, so I decided to create what this frame and mat seemed to be calling for. "Enjoy the Silence", 8x11.5", charcoal on paper.
I went on an amazing trip to Paris with my Mom last week. It was our first time there and I fell in love with the city. So much artistic inspiration! The weather was perfect and the experience was wonderful! The art, sights, styles, cafes, you name it, it was incredible. I took some pics of people in cafes so I can use them as inspiration for paintings. I even painted three small watercolor pieces while I was there. I'm so lucky to have been able to travel and spend this special time with my Mom. Here are some pics from our artsy Parisian adventure. :)
I'm thrilled to have my painting "Eloise" featured on the Fall/Winter 2017 cover of Marjorie Magazine! Read the beautiful write-up in the magazine on my work here. :)
